Description

The purpose of this program is to award bursaries to pupil teachers with very limited financial means who are undergoing teacher training after the completion of the higher secondary / graduation in any training institute.

Goals

To help female teachers: - become qualified members of the teaching service - be more willing / motivate to accept postings to the rural and less developed areas where they serve as role models - work more effectively in the classroom because of their (a) upgraded professional competence and (b) enhanced confidence and self-esteem - have stronger bargaining and better fallback positions in the union
