Description

In respond to the call for the implementation and monitoring of the 2030 SDGs, in 2015, KUT proposed and conducted a SDG Awareness Program focusing on teachers. With the teaching profession, they need to be better equipped to continue the work of advocating and mobilizing resources to speed up realizing the good ends.

Goals

Inform teachers and members on their role and responsibilities on the implementation and monitoring of SDGs, particularly Goal 4, Goal 5 and Goal 8. Build a better understanding on climate change and to strengthen the roles of teachers to contribute to the KV20. Working together to build a strong network for the future development of Kiribati children.

Activities

Workshop presentations, panel discussions, group discussions and presentation.

Results

The leaders were also very happy to connect, discuss their common challenges, share their difference experiences and plans to work together on this platform especially on Education 2030 Agenda, SDG 5, SDG 8 and other issues in Kiribati Education. Improve teachers’ performance, children’s achievement and their livelihoods. Work together to build a strong network
